Bullying is no longer occurring just in the school yards, victims are lead to believing they are being hit at all the time, no matter where they are. They feel as if there is not virtual escape. Frequent cyber bullying can hold great effects on both victims and bullies. This is putting these kids at risk of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and stress- related disorders. Its commonly reported that those involved in bullying acts are at a greater risk of having suicidal thoughts, attempted or completed suicides.

Cyberbullying Prevention 

1. Educate yourself- What is Cyberbullying is and where it occurs.

2. Protect all passwords- Only you should know and have access to your passwords for social networking websites.

​

3. Keep all photos “PG”- consider, before posting or commenting ask yourself is it something you would want your Grandma to see?

4. Never open unidentified or unsolicited messages.

​

5. Log out of online accounts so no one else has access to them.

​

6. Think before you post.

​

7. Raise awareness

​

8. Have privacy controls on all social networking account.

​

9. Don’t be a cyberbully yourself- treat others how you want to be treated.
